Hernando Co. brush fire burns homes, 110 acres; deemed suspicious

BROOKSVILLE (FOX 13) - Hernando County Fire Rescue says the Kingbird fire is 100 percent contained and has been deemed suspicious by officials.

An investigation into the cause is underway after the fire burned 110 acres and a few home suffered damage Friday.

Hernando County Fire Rescue responded to the brush fire in the area Kingbird Rd, a rural residential area of Hernando County.

The fire was reported 50 percent contained at 6 p.m. Friday. By that evening, it was completely under control.

No evacuations were ordered but one family self-evacuated their home.

There are no reports of injuries to civilians or responders.
