Florida man arrested after being accused of multiple alleged sexual charges involving minors

Deputies said they arrested a Florida man last week for multiple sexual charges involving a minor.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office has identified the man as 31-year-old Brandon Michael Angevine.

Records show Angevine is facing charges including sexual battery on a victim younger than 12 years old, while he was already in custody for possession of child pornography, and unlawful use of a two-way communication device to facilitate a felony.

Officials said Angevine currently sits in the Marion County Jail, where he is held without bond.

The backstory:

Detectives said they received a tip on Aug. 29 from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children indicating a Kik account had uploaded multiple files of child sexual abuse material to the platform.

Through an investigation, officials said they discovered Angevine was the person who uploaded the file.

Timeline:

On Nov. 8, deputies reported a second tip was received, which indicated Angevine uploaded additional files in a private chat to another Kik user.

Based on the findings of the initial investigation, sheriffs stated a warrant was obtained for Angevine’s arrest.

On Dec. 12, reports show Angevine was arrested on the warrant for four counts of possession of child pornography and one count of unlawful use of a two-way communication device to facilitate a felony.

As the investigation continued, detectives said they obtained a search warrant for Angevine’s cell phone, which revealed additional evidence that led to his arrest for additional charges of possession of child pornography and unlawful use of a two-way communication device to facilitate a felony.

Officials reported another tip then was received that indicated Angevine sent a file of himself sexually battering a young child in a private message on Kik.

What they're saying:

Detectives said they made contact with Angevine, who admitted to producing the video, wrote an apology letter and stated he had raped the child.
