Deputies: Man shoots into own home, sets it on fire

A Barefoot Bay man is in jail, Sunday, after he allegedly shot rounds into his own home, then set it on fire.

The incident happened at around 9 p.m. on Saturday in a mobile home community on Tamarind Circle.

Neighbors heard multiple shots outside and found 36-year-old Michael Raglan’s home on fire.

Brevard County deputies believe Raglan was responsible.

The home was fully-engulfed in flames.

Neighbors feared their homes would also catch fire.

“I ran over to my neighbor's to try to help put out the fire,” said Joe Clescz. “It was too late to do anything with his house because it was engulfed in flames.”

Raglan was also accused of shooting at signs on a Florida Power and Light solar plant back in March.

“He’s had trouble off and on, but I never had any trouble with him. He was always nice to me,” said another neighbor.

Raglan is facing charges for arson and shooting in public.
