Annie the Astronaut debuts at Orlando International Airport as newest ambassador

The Orlando International Airport (MCO) has introduced a new, out-of-this-world envoy just in time for the holiday travel season.

The envoy, named Annie the Astronaut, is a nod to central Florida's history of aerospace achievement, says the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. Annie evokes familiar images of exploration, adventure, and technological innovation.

The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority says that Annie was created by Synect and is the newest member of the airport customer service team. She will be integrated into Orlando International's high-definition video display walls and digital information signage. She will also assist, entertain, amuse, and help improve the travel experience at MCO.

It's said that as MCO completes its transition into more spacious and high-tech ticket lobbies, along with enhanced airport wayfinding signage, Annie will play a significant role in demonstrating the capabilities of the airport's innovative digital platforms.

Her image will also reportedly help passengers identify levels and locations, as well as guide customers. Since astronauts are explorers at heart, Annie's resourcefulness and curious nature make her the best choice for virtual outreach ambassador.

The Greater Orlando Aviation says that Annie's assignments will be diverse and stimulating. Everything from helping passengers navigate their airport journey to easing travel stress to sharing her adventures in outer space and under the sea.

Her gentle and humorous presence will reportedly inform, enlighten, and entertain as she invites customers and travelers to "Explore with Annie" and enjoy the "Orlando Experience."
