2 moms accused of trying to rob bank

DELTONA, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - A FOX 35 viewer who happened to be driving by Region's Bank in Orange City got video of Tiffany Fleming and Tanya Morrison getting arrested.   Police say they tried to hold up this bank with a paint ball gun.

Morrison bonded out and we caught up with her at her Deltona home Thursday.  She says she did not try to rob a bank. She says she was duped by Fleming.  

"Asked for a ride, promised gas money, instead ending up in cuffs, embarrassed," Morrison said. "There was no reason to arrest me. I'm getting a restraining order for that woman."

She says she only knows Fleming because their sons are friends.   So, when Fleming called her for a ride she thought nothing of it.

She even went in the bank and says she sat on a couch while Fleming went in and asked for a private meeting with the assistant manager. According to the police report, Fleming told the manager she needed money because her husband was addicted to crack and she was living with relatives.

The manager offered her a two thousand dollar loan, but police say that wasn't enough for Fleming who flashed the fake gun and demanded more money.  Police say the manager whispered to another employee to hit the silent alarm and alerting police.

By the time Fleming and Morrison were walking out the front door, they were surrounded.

Fleming was in court Thursday. A judge denied bond.  Morrison says she's lost a lot of money and faith in humanity.

"I had to pay 150 to get my car out of the impound lot! I had to pay $1,500 for my bond. and now I'm gonna have to hire a lawyer! Are you serious?"
