Florida has slipped deeper into drought. The statewide drought index has now climbed to 358 out of 500, the worst level we have seen since May 2001.

A dense fog advisory has been issued for the Orlando metro until 9 a.m. This includes Lake, Orange, Seminole, and Volusia counties. Visibility could be reduced to less than a quarter of a mile, making the morning commute and driving conditions dangerous.

There is a chance for scattered showers and a few thunderstorms on Saturday across Central Florida. A few of them could be strong or severe, primarily in parts of Brevard, Osceola, and Polk counties, according to the FOX 35 Storm Team.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will last throughout the Orlando metro on Saturday. There is a "marginal" risk of severe weather in parts of southern Brevard and central Osceola counties throughout the afternoon. Rain changes are between 50% & 60% for much of the area. Stronger storms could bring strong winds up to 45 mph, coin-sized hail, heavy rain, and deadly lightning.
