Suspect accused of trying to kill woman over loud music complaint
ORLANDO, Fla. (FOX 35 ORLANDO) - The Orlando Police Department said in an arrest affidavit that officers responded at 4:53 a.m. to shots being fired at the Pineview Apartments on North Pine Hills Road.
While on the way, they received information from the victim, Kelly Hazzard, 35, that the suspect, Nicole Taylor, 51, ran back into her apartment.
Upon arrival, officers said that they made contact with Hazzard, who said that she was in her apartment when she heard loud music coming from outside.
She also said that her children were inside the apartment sleeping and she was concerned the loud music would wake them.
Hazzard and her husband, Earnest Felton, reportedly walked outside and saw Taylor sitting inside her vehicle, where the loud music was coming from.
Hazzard and Felton approached a group of males sitting on a large electrical box and asked them to lower the music.
Before they could finish asking, Taylor stepped outside her vehicle and confronted Hazzard. She got in her face, causing Hazzard back up.
The arrest affidavit continued to recall the event, stating that Hazzard told Taylor that she did have any problems, but that it was early.
She then asked Taylor if she could turn the music down. Taylor responded by stating that she had something for Hazzard. She walked away and went to her apartment.
Upon returning, Taylor reportedly started shooting at Hazzard.
The arrest affidavit said Hazzard ran for her life back to her apartment and locked the door. Hazzard then called 911.
Taylor was arrested and charged with attempted second degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
