Shooting in Thornton Park sends 1 to hospital

Orlando police officers are investigating a shooting in Thornton Park, which sent one person to the hospital.  

Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Summerlin Ave. and Washington St., shortly before 4 p.m. on Friday, in reference to a possible aggravated battery.  The victim was located near a 7-Eleven store, but it was unclear where the actual shooting occurred.

Investigators said a man walked into the store, needing help and saying he had been shot.  Detectives are now working to figure out at what location the victim was shot. Police said no one heard gunshots in the area, and no crime scene was located, and the victim is not cooperating.

Investigators have not yet released the victim’s name. They say his injuries are not life-threatening
