City of Orlando, Town of Eatonville celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through annual events
ORLANDO, Fla. - Two local municipalities are hosting events Saturday to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
The City of Orlando hosted its celebration Saturday morning, and the Town of Eatonvile is set to host its celebration Saturday afternoon.

The City of Orlando hosted its annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parade around 10 a.m. Jan. 18 in the downtown area.
This year's parade theme was "Mission Possible: Protecting Freedom, Justice and Democracy in the Spirit of Nonviolence 365."
The parade kicked off at the Downtown Orlando Courthouse and made its way to Lake Eola Park.
The parade included dancing, floats, music and community celebration.
"This is a call to action for each of us to remain united in the spirit of love and nonviolence as we continue to advocate for a just and equitable society," the city said on the event's website.
This was the 41st anniversary of the annual celebration.
Town of Eatonville parade celebration
The historic Town of Eatonville also will host a celebration honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
The 48th annual celebration is taking place at 2 p.m. Saturday along Kennedy Boulevard, from Keller Road to West Street.
This year’s event theme is "Illuminating Tomorrow Together," which the town said celebrates King’s enduring legacy of unity, progress and hope for the future.
Following the parade, attendees will be able to enjoy live music, food vendors and family-friendly activities at Hungerford Field.
