1 killed in single-vehicle crash in Marion County, officials
MARION COUNTY, Fla. - A 43-year-old man was killed Saturday morning after being ejected from a pickup truck during a single-vehicle crash in Marion County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred on August 22, at approximately 7:02 a.m. along State Road 25.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was driving a 2014 Chevrolet pickup truck southbound on State Road 25 when the vehicle failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway.
Reports suggest that the pickup traveled off the roadway onto the east shoulder, where it struck a utility pole and a fence. The vehicle then overturned, ejecting the driver.
Marion County Fire Rescue responded to the crash and pronounced the 43-year-old driver deceased at the scene.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. No additional information about the victim was immediately available.
