Plenty of storms forecast for this weekend with a high risk of dangerous rip currents

Expect a warm, humid day across Central Florida. Rain chances will begin a sharper rise beginning today as a weak surface front moves into the region.

A passing Hurricane Lee, which is out in the Atlantic Ocean, is pulling a front south into Florida and that means there will be increased chances for rain over the next few days.

Skies will feature a mix of sun and clouds before showers and storms return mainly after 2 p.m. Heavy rain and lightning will be the primary hazards in any stronger storms with the chance for strong wind gusts at times.

Hurricane Lee is 380 miles south-southwest of Bermuda with 105 mph winds, making it a Category 2 hurricane. While it's far away from Florida, it will bring rip currents and dangerous surf to Florida's coast.

Even though Hurricane Lee is far away from Florida's coast, it will still impact Florida beaches bringing strong rip currents. FOX 35 meteorologist Brooks Garner explains.

Some isolated thunderstorms are possible this afternoon across Central Florida on Wednesday. Main threats would be wind, lightning, and heavy rain. FOX 35's Allison Gargaro explains.

Skies will feature a mix of sun and clouds across Central Florida Wednesday. Showers and storms return again today coverage near 50% inland, 30-40% along the coastal counties.
