Gov. DeSantis discusses push to end vaccine mandates

Last week, Gov. Ron DeSantis and Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo announced their intent to end all mandates requiring vaccines for children and adults. Florida would be the first state to make such a move. DeSantis answered question from reporters on his push at a press conference on Monday morning in Plant City.

Gov. DeSantis speaks on Second Amendment sales tax holiday

The 2025 Hunting, Fishing, and Camping Season Sales Tax Holiday is underway in Florida. Gov. Ron DeSantis and Lt. Gov. Jay Collins touted the expanded exemptions, which now include guns and ammunition, at a news conference in Plant City on Monday. The sales tax holiday runs through Dec. 31.

Weak tornado briefly touches down in Palm Bay

The National Weather Service (NWS) said a weak tornado touched down Sunday afternoon in Palm Bay and uprooted a tree, as well as caused some damage to a home. Citing radar and the damage reports, NWS has given it a preliminary EF-0 rating on the Enhanced Fujita Scale. This video, taken by viewer Tim Barton, shows the tornado in the sky.
