Procession for Edgewater Police Officer shot, killed at Circle K
Officers and deputies helped escort the body of Edgewater Police Officer David Jewell who was shot and killed Monday at a Circle K in Ormond-by-the-Sea. Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood said Jewell was shot at point-blank range in the back of the head by an employee of the Circle K in an apparent targeted attack. The suspect is in custody, officials said.

An off-duty Edgewater Police Officer was ambushed, shot and killed in the doorway of a Circle K gas station Monday afternoon in Ormond-by-the-Sea by a clerk who worked there, officials said. Officer David Jewell was waiting to buy a hot dog, when the suspected shooter went to his car, got a gun, walked in and the officer point-blank in the head, officials said.

Sheriff: Mom turned in kids accused of damaging school

After putting our surveillance photos on social media, the boys' moms reportedly called the sheriff's office to turn their children in. A shooting at a Circle K gas station in Ormond-by-the-Sea has left a man dead, according to the Volusia Sheriff's Office. Two people, described as "persons of interest," have been detained.
Florida teachers under investigation for alleged Charlie Kirk posts

Paddlefish at Disney Springs robbed overnight: Deputies
The Orange County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a masked person robbed employees at Paddlefish, a restaurant at Disney Springs. It happened shortly after midnight on Sept. 15, 2025, according to the report. The man, who was caught on surveillance video appearing to wear a swimming cap and goggles, walked into the manager's office and ordered two people "down" and on their knees. The man then left after about 2 minutes.
