Epic Universe death: Expert talks restraint questions

As the investigation into how -- and why -- a man died after riding Stardust Racers at Epic Universe, and whether the ride itself had any impact on the man's death, FOX 35 talked with an expert about roller coaster ride restraints. Kevin Zavala became unresponsive while on Stardust Racers, officials and the family's attorney, Ben Crump said. Zavala died at the hospital. Zavala died from multiple blunt force injuries, according to the Medical Examiner. The family's attorney, Crump, questioned the potential of whether there could have been an issue with the ride's restraints.

Florida welcomes Success Academy to state

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Lt. Gov. Jay Collins spoke on Thursday morning in Miami. 'Threw her to the floor': Care worker accused of elderly abuse

A former employee at Spring Hills Lake Mary is accused of elderly abuse against a woman she was tasked with caring for. Springs Hills told FOX 35 that the employee was suspended, then terminated. According to the woman's daughter, the aide lifted her mom's arms up and pushed her to the floor, then left her on the floor. The woman, Gene, is at the facility because she has dementia.

Family wants answers after Stardust Racers death

Attorneys representing the family of Kevin Rodriguez Zavala, the man who died after riding Stardust Racers at Epic Universe, remembered him as a "theme park enthusiast" and someone who lived a completely independent life. Attorneys and family said that Zavala, who used a wheelchair and was born with a spinal injury, did not have a medical emergency and was not under any medical restrictions on the day that he and his girlfriend were at Epic Universe. Rockledge police, with the help of the Brevard County bomb squad and hazmat teams, have surrounded a house on Pennsylvania Avenue, authorities said Wednesday evening. Orlando?s Dubsdread Golf Course renovations near completion

Orlando?s oldest golf course, Dubsdread, is set to unveil a major upgrade next month, city officials announced. The renovations include a new driving range with 40 hitting bays, 36 of which feature swing-tracking technology, and a state-of-the-art learning center with simulators. Guests will also have access to a new snack bar, full-service bar, and golf merchandise shop.
