Something is making laughing gulls sick on Lido Beach. Save Our Seabirds' avian hospital administrator, Dana Leworthy said it started when nine laughing gulls were brought in, showing signs of sickness. Within days, they were treating 25. While red tide does not appear to be present in the area, samples from Collier County have tested positive.

A woman wants a Malabar councilman who threw a ball of paper at her to be investigated for claims of assault. Dawn Danielson is also demanding that District 4 councilman Dick Korn resign. The conflict stemmed over re-zoning development of land near the Indian River Lagoon.

Couple injured in possible bobcat attack in South Florida

A woman out for an early morning walk with her husband was attacked by an animal believed to be a bobcat. Lauderhill Fire Rescue Capt. Jerry Gonzalez says the attack happened around 6:15 a.m. Friday near the couple's apartment.

US vaping illnesses top 1,000; death count is up to 18

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said 1,080 confirmed and probable cases have been reported in 48 states and one U.S. territory as of Tuesday afternoon. The count includes 18 deaths in 15 states. Most who got sick said they vaped products containing THC, the marijuana ingredient that causes a high, but some said they vaped only nicotine.

Final six Pulse museum designs now on display

The six finalists chosen to design the National Pulse Memorial and Museum are presenting their models for the museum that can now be viewed by the public. The winning team?s concept will be announced on October 30. The onePulse foundation says they hope to break ground by 2021.

Teen surfer bitten twice by shark

A surfer in Brevard County was bitten twice by a shark. Logan Radd received 19 stitches on his foot after receiving treatment for his injuries at Satellite Beach. Luckily, there is no permanent damage, doctors said.
