Woman walks away uninjured from crash with Amtrak train

A woman is unscathed after her car collided with an Amtrak train in Jacksonville and spun off the tracks.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says the woman lost control of her car after swerving to avoid a crossing arm at about 6:35 a.m. Sunday. Her car rammed in between the two front engines of the train. Sheriff's officials said the train was traveling at about 45 miles per hour.

The impact of the crash decoupled the two engines and tore off the front end of the woman's car.

FirstCoast News reports that the passenger compartment and the woman then spun off the tracks.

The woman walked away from her vehicle without injuries.
