Prince George's County man survives 2 days after being ejected from car following crash

A man survived for two days after being ejected from his vehicle following a violent crash in Prince George's County by drinking rainwater as he waited for crews to find him, according to his family.

Maryland State Police told FOX 5 that 41-year-old Gregory Eubanks of Fort Washington was reported missing by his family on Saturday. Crews responded to reports of a damaged guardrail off Route 210 near the Beltway in the Oxon Hill area at about 8 a.m. on Monday and found a vehicle down the embankment.

“It was an indescribable emotion because we were thinking so many different scenarios so it was sheer joy when we got the call that he was found,” his cousin Tre Drew told FOX 5. “He said he just remembered waking up and realizing that he couldn’t move and realizing that there was nothing around him to assist or help.”

Eubank's family told FOX 5 he was ejected from his vehicle and was too injured to move. His family said Eubanks survived by drinking rainwater as he waited for help to arrive.

“He said the water started filling up because of the rain and it kept coming up to his nose and he had to keep moving his head,” Drew explained. “Due to his dehydration, he eventually had to start drinking the water that gathered right there just to survive."

Eubanks was rushed to the hospital where he was treated for dehydration and broken bones in his back and shoulders, according to his family.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation, according to police.
