Police searching for hit-and-run suspect who left mother, children without transportation
POLK COUNTY, Fla. - The Winter Haven Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect in a hit-and-run.
Police say the hit-and-run took place around 10:43 p.m. Dec. 5 in front of a home on Lake Smart Circle in Winter Haven.
Officers reported a dark-colored, late-model Jeep Gladiator with large wheels and what appeared to be a lifted suspension and changing-color neon lights under the frame, plowed into a sedan that was parked on the side of the street.
A police report states the impact caused significant damage to the parked vehicle.

Officers say the incident has left a mother and her children without transportation.
