Orlando weather: Cold temps stick around through early Saturday, but a warm-up is coming next week

Sunshine returns to Central Florida and is expected to stay for at least the next week.

What To Expect:

Saturday morning will bring the coldest temperatures of the winter to many areas, with a Freeze Warning in effect. Residents in affected areas are advised to protect pipes, plants, and pets, and cover any exposed sensitive plants.

Despite the chill, the weather is expected to be good for the Rolex 24 event and at Orlando-area theme parks.

Temperatures will begin to warm up next week, reaching the 70s, and could approach 80 degrees by Thursday.

Weekend Forecast

Patchy frost will be possible early Saturday morning as temperatures in some areas fall to near, or even below, the freezing mark. Areas to the northwest of Interstate 4 are under a Freeze Warning, which will be where the coldest temperatures in Central Florida will take place.

Despite the cold start to the morning, temperatures will make a big jump through the afternoon with highs getting back into the 60s.

When will warmer weather return?

As we finally break free of this dreary, wet, and cold pattern, even warmer temperatures and continued sunshine can be expected for Sunday. Plan for highs to reach the upper 60s and low 70s.

We will thaw out even more next week as an area of high pressure builds into the region. This will finally push us into a warm, dry and sunny stretch through much of the week! The highs will even make a run to the upper 70s by Friday.
