Memorial grows for victims of Pulse terror attack

ORLANDO (FOX 35) - There's a growing memorial in front of the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts for the victims of the Pulse nightclub attack.

People have left flowers, candles and notes to show their respect for the 49 victims who died and the dozens of others who were injured.

Since the vigil held Monday evening, a steady stream of Orlando residents and visitors have stopped at the makeshift memorial.

"It really hurts to see something like this happening. I don't know, it's very sad. I have children, it could have been one of my kids," one parent said.

People who have stopped by the growing memorial are visibly emotional after seeing the written messages, handmade signs, ribbons and teddy bears.

"It is heart-wrenching to know something so horrible happened so close to home. I have to pay tribute to the people who are fallen," a resident said.

Orlando leaders have said they want the community and residents to come together during this time of tragedy so that everyone can heal.
