The 5.4 quake struck just after 9:30 a.m. Alaska Time and was centered in a remote coastal area about 110 miles south of Anchorage.

A cold front that moved through overnight is ushering in cooler temperatures and gusty winds this morning. 

Hurricane Melissa made landfall Wednesday morning in Cuba as a powerful Category 3 hurricane with winds of 120 mph.

There is a chance for patchy and dense fog early Wednesday morning, which should clear by 9 or 10 a.m. as the sun comes up. 

Melissa is expected to remain a powerful hurricane when it moves across Cuba, the Bahamas, and near Bermuda.

Plan for areas of reduced visibility this morning as patchy dense fog develops. It will clear and lift out of the region around 9-10 a.m.
