Arrest made in deadly shooting allegedly tied to road rage

Volusia County considers allowing horseback riding on select beaches

Volusia County officials are exploring the possibility of allowing horseback riding on limited stretches of county beaches. If approved, riding would be allowed in two areas: a nine-mile stretch from the Flagler County line to Granada Boulevard, and another nine-mile section at Neptune Beach. Riders would need to make an online reservation at least 48 hours in advance, stay below the most recent high tide line, and provide Coggins health certificates for their horses.

A Seminole County mother is suing a Volusia County dairy farm, saying bacteria from its raw milk caused her to miscarry and left her toddler seriously ill. Rachel Maddox, who was 20 weeks pregnant at the time, said she lost her unborn son after contracting a bacterial infection.
