NASCAR on Wednesday announced changes to its NASCAR Hall of Fame nomination and induction processes, including reducing the annual number of inductees from five to three and splitting potential nominees into two ballots.

Drivers will return to the track at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday and the season-opening Daytona 500 is Feb. 16.

Tony Stewart was one of five inductees Friday night into the 11th class of NASCAR's Hall of Fame -- a group that is essentially a celebration of Joe Gibbs Racing.

When his career is over, Kyle Busch wants just one ring to encapsulate his accomplishments. He insists he will close his career alongside greats Richard Petty, Dale Earnhardt and Jimmie Johnson.  But he doesn't have seven Cup Series titles. 

NASCAR teams will now use a separate rules package at Bristol, Dover, Martinsville, New Hampshire, Phoenix, Richmond, the Charlotte Roval, Sonoma and Watkins Glen.

There's two spots left to claim in next week's title-deciding race and six drivers jockeying for the position and an added wrinkle headed into Sunday at ISM Raceway outside Phoenix is a brewing controversy over drivers deliberately spinning the last two weeks and altering the outcome of others' races. 

Harvick won from the pole, leading 120 of 334 laps in the No. 4 Ford for Stewart-Haas Racing.

Harvick goes into Sunday's race fifth in points with two races remaining to qualify for one of the three remaining championship-contending spots in the season finale.

Truex earned a spot in NASCAR's championship race for the third consecutive year.

The win was the fifth this season for Hamlin, who already was in good shape to advance but picked up valuable playoff points with the win.
