Verizon: Service restored after large outage
WINTER HAVEN (FOX 13) - Verizon Wireless customer service representatives say service should be getting back to normal after the company suffered a "wireless network issue" in parts of the Bay Area last night.
In a Thursday night tweet, Verizon did not confirm the extent of the outage, but according to a map on downdetector.com, the outages appeared widespread.
A company statement says things should be back online as of this morning.
"Verizon Wireless experienced interruption in service in the Tampa Bay area last night. Engineers were able to identify and resolve the issue and service was restored by 2:45 a.m. this morning."
Anyone still experiencing issues should turn their device all the way off, then back on, the company advised.
