Two critically endangered Malayan Tiger cubs born at Prague Zoo
PRAGUE (APTN) - Critically endangered Malayan tiger twins were born last month at th Prague Zoo and their keeper thinks they have a good shot at survival.
Only two European zoos have ever successfully bred Malayan tigers -- the most recent happening being in 2013.
There are only a few hundred of this species still alive in the wild in Asia.
One obstacle to their species is that the males tend to get too aggressive towards their female partners. Other problems include mothers not caring for their cubs and the risk of disease.
This brother and sister pair are doing well and so is their 11-year-old mother "Banya."
The cubs will be named next month..
