Tropical Storm Lisa strengthens slightly over eastern Atlantic
MIAMI (AP) - Tropical Storm Lisa is strengthening slightly over the eastern Atlantic, but still poses no threat to land.
The U.S. National Hurricane Center reports in its 5 p.m. advisory that Lisa's maximum sustained winds had increased to 45 mph (70 kph) by late Tuesday afternoon. The center said the storm is expected to gain a bit more strength through Wednesday and then start to steadily weaken on Thursday.

Lisa is centered about 465 miles (750 kilometers) west of the Cabo Verde Islands and is moving northwest about 12 mph (20 kph).
Also in the Atlantic, Tropical Storm Karl's maximum sustained winds are holding steady at 40 mph (65 kph) and the storm is moving westward at 14 mph (20 kph). The Hurricane Center said Karl was centered late Tuesday about 480 miles (770 kilometers) northeast of the Leeward Islands and 1,030 miles (1,660 kilometers) southeast of Bermuda. Some strengthening is expected during the next couple of days.
