Three people injured after reports of lightning strike on New Smyrna Beach

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla.(FOX 35 WOFL) - The Volusia County Fire Rescue says that three people were transported to the hospital after lightning struck New Smyrna Beach.

They say that a call came in at 7:37 p.m. for at least one, possibly up to three, people struck by lighting. Two of those people were reported as non-emergencies, while one was an emergency.

The incident reportedly occurred near the dog beach.
