SWAT responds to Orange County home in attempt to serve warrant only to find empty home, deputies say

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. - The Orange County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team responded to a home near Columbia Street and Amaros Avenue on Thursday while serving a warrant, authorities said.

Deputies secured the residence and confirmed no one was inside. Officials said no additional details were immediately available.

The response prompted a large law enforcement presence, with about 20 patrol vehicles and multiple SWAT units surrounding the home.

SWAT teams have surrounded a home in Orange County, where we're told a search warrant is attempting to be executed. There is a large law enforcement presence near Columbia Street and Amaros Avenue. OCSO said the investigation is active and ongoing and asked the public to avoid the area. 

Authorities blocked Columbia Street between Amaros and Florence avenues for several hours and urged the public to avoid the area.

No other details were released.
