Shoppers hit the outlets on Christmas Day

Nothing stops the holiday shoppers.

The Orlando-Vineland Premium Outlets were packed with people on Christmas, a day most people associate with food and family.

Even on Christmas Day, stores were packed with people out looking for gifts and the best deals.

Many of the people hitting the stores on Christmas Day are tourists, like Deborah Moseley.

“I thought it would be a good opportunity for the both of us," she said. "We always wanted to see what the mall looked like, so we decided to walk around and stuff."

Unlike pre-Christmas shopping, where people go shopping by themselves for family members, shopping on Christmas Day seems to be a family event.

Danielle Marks was visiting from Connecticut.

She said shopping was something else to do besides hitting the theme parks.

“We decided to come because we like spending it with family and this was the only way we could do it without going to a park,” she said.

Workers said it wasn’t unusual to see big crowds on Christmas Day.

The parking lot was full even before the stores opened.

“So far, there's been some pretty big crowds, but good deals nonetheless. Some of my favorite brands are having blowout sales, so happy about that,” said Nick Barbery, who was visiting from Miami.

The outlets were open unti 6 p.m. on Christmas.

They have extended hours the day after Christmas from 8 a.m. until 11 p.m.
