Potential for strong rip currents, red flag flown
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - The Volusia County coast has a potential for strong rip currents on Sunday.
Beach patrol flew the red flag on Saturday as well, when they rescued more than two dozen people from the surf.
This warning comes after a man drowned at Daytona Beach on Friday. Officials say he and a woman were pulled out of the water and taken to the hospital. The woman is still alive.
Officials say that if you get caught in a rip current, swim to the side, following the shore until you are out of its pull.
