Orlando Magic thank fans for support
ORLANDO, Fla. (FOX 35 ORLANDO) - The Orlando Magic said they are very thankful for the great season and most of all – their fans! That’s why they wanted to show their appreciation with a celebration in the heart of downtown.
It was a corner street party right outside of City Hall with music playing, Blue Crew bouncing and Magic dancers cheering.
All thanking Orlando Magic fans for their support throughout the season and as the Magic went on to the Playoffs.
This was the first time the Magic made it to the NBA Playoffs in seven years.
“We’ve been season ticket holders for four years now and I feel like I’m almost invested as much in this team as the players are so it was really exciting to see them have success and make the playoffs,” Magic fan Andrew White said. “And basically to see all their hard work show up on the court.”
Even four-legged fans made an appearance.
“He’s a huge Magic fan, but he doesn’t normally get to come to events, so I thought I’d walk him down here and see if he could finally be a part of one,” White said.
Celebratory honking from cars driving in front of City Hall was constant as stuff the Magic mascot and Orlando Magic Ambassador Bo Outlaw gave away t-shirts and fan gear to folks on their way to work.
“I’ve been saying thank you to the fans, handing out shirts, towels, Magic stickers, you know, just saying thank you to all the fans who support us this year,” Outlaw said. “We really appreciate them. Just wanted to come out and let them know.”
He said from the fans he’s met, they all said they’re ready to see what the Magic will do next season.
