Orange City home destroyed by fire

ORANGE CITY, Fla. (FOX 35 Orlando) - A fire destroyed a home in Orange City Tuesday night. It happened around 5 p.m. on Shady Pines Drive.
Firefighters say most of the damage is inside, but the flames were strong when they first arrived at the house. Investigators believe the fire was electrical and started in the attic. No one was hurt; however, investigators say it was a difficult fire to put out.
“At first, just trying to get the roof, the ceiling pulled down so we could actually get water up in there and then find exactly where it was coming from because it was just traveling the attic space,” said Fire Marshal Robert Scott.
The house is unlivable. The homeowners are displaced and staying with family and friends for now.
