Officer stops man from jumping off bridge

RIVERDALE, NJ - With no time to spare, quick-acting police officer sprang out of his car and into action to stop a distraught man from jumping off a bridge.

Sgt. Greg Bogert, of the Riverdale, NJ Police Department, said the man was upset over the a loss of a family member and attempted to jump off the Route 287 bridge near the Hamburg Turnpike on Monday morning.
