Mother speaks out about her 14-year-old son's murder

An Orlando mother is mourning the loss of her 14-year-old son who was shot and killed over the weekend.

Authorities say Antony Reid was killed Saturday afternoon when he was shot in the Millenia neighborhood in southwest Orlando.

On Monday, the Orange County Sheriff's Office confirmed the shooting was not random.

The victim’s mother, Annie Pratt, says one minute he's out with his friends, the next he's dead.

The mother says she thinks her son was killed out of jealousy.

"He's a privileged child," she said. "He gets everything that he wants. We make sure of that. So for you to take my baby because you are jealous, because he has more than you, because his parents make sure of that, that's not fair," Pratt said.

The mother in mourning told the News Station what she will miss the most about her son.

"His smile, the way he walks in a room and it lights up,” she said. "Antony was an outgoing person, he loved fashion, he loved cars, he loved taking pictures, he [was] free-hearted."

Pratt has a message for anyone who might know something about her son's killer.

"Just come forward, he's 14, he wasn't a bad kid. He didn't bother anyone. Come forward and tell," Pratt said.

A candlelight vigil will be held Saturday for friends and family.

The teen's funeral is being planned for May 3, but a location has not yet been determined.
