Marion Co. deputy shot at while breaking up crowd
MARION COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - The Marion County Sheriff's Office is looking for the person who shot at a deputy who was trying to break up a crowd at a bar.
The sheriff's office says the deputy was at the Paradise Bar on Sunday morning on a security check.
That's when deputies say someone fired a gun into the crowd, right at the deputy.
By the time back up arrived, the shooter had vanished.
The deputy was not hit, but his patrol car was.
Now, the sheriff's office is hoping witnesses who were at the bar will come forward.
