Man dies from gunshot wounds in Altamonte Springs shooting
ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - A local man has died from gunshot wounds suffered in an incident in Altamonte Springs, according to the Seminole County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies say that they were called to the area of Jackson and Pine Streets just after 10:15 a.m on Tuesday. 21-year-old Treyvis Gooch of Altamonte Springs was discovered in a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to a local hospital, where he died that afternoon.
A subject, through an attorney, reportedly contacted investigators saying that he was fired-upon first and shot at Gooch in self-defense. The sheriff's office says that the subject met has met with investigators and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation. Investigators are doing additional interviews with the State Attorney's Office.
