A University of Florida resident assistant accused of trying to sexually batter a female student has been released after a judge granted a motion from his defense that listed him as "high achieving."

Ian Milaski, 21, was released on his own recognizance on Friday when a judge granted his appeal to reduce his $125,000 bond.

According to the Washington Post, Milaski was arrested last month after the victim told campus police that Milaski tried to forcibly kiss her and put his fingers inside her underwear in his dorm.

WCJB reports that Milaski called the victim and told her he was drunk and needed water. When she walked him back to his dorm, he reportedly tried to kiss her. When she refused, the victim reportedly told police that Milaski grabbed her by the wrists and said “I want to sleep with you.” When she tried to leave, Milaski allegedly picked up the victim, put her on his bed and tried to sexually batter her.

The victim was able to escape and went back to her own room where she asked her roommate and another friend to stay with her. Later that night, the victim said she saw the outline of a person in her doorway and realized it was Milaski.

The victim reported that Milaski tried to get into bed with her and she yelled at him to leave. That's when her friend reportedly woke up and also yelled at Milaski to get out of the room.

A judge granted Milaski's appeal to reduce his bond of $125,000, in light of the emergency defense motion that stated he is “slated to graduated in May 2020″ with a double major, and has “personally performed more than 210 hours of community service in the last two years.” The motion also described Milaski as "high-achieving."

Milaski is charged with simple battery and false imprisonment. He has been ordered to have no contact with the victim.
