Will ICE agents be at 2026 Super Bowl? Here’s what DHS is saying

Speculation is growing whether ICE agents will be present at the 2026 Super Bowl at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California where Bad Bunny is set to perform the Halftime Show.

The speculation comes after Donald Trump’s former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski appeared on Benny Johnson’s web interview series "The Benny Show" earlier this week.

Will ICE agents be at Super Bowl?

What they're saying:

When Johnson asked Lewandowski if ICE would have enforcement at the Super Bowl, the Trump advisor responded: "There is nowhere you can provide safe haven to people who are in this country illegally. Not the Super Bowl and nowhere else. We will find you and apprehend you and put you in a detention facility and deport you. Know that is a very real situation under this administration, which is contrary to how it used to be."

Lewankdowki has long been politically associated with President Donald Trump, first working as his campaign manager during Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and returning to his campaign in 2024. Since the election, he has aligned himself with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), serving as an advisor and special government employee in the department.

He added: "Look if there are illegal aliens, I don't care if it's a concert for Johnny Smith or Bad Bunny or anybody else. We're going to do enforcement everywhere because we are going to make Americans safe. That is a directive from the president."

A spokesperson for DHS responded to FOX Local’s request for confirmation, reiterating that "There is no safe haven for violent criminal illegal aliens in the United States."

What This Means:

While Lewandowski and DHS’s statements imply that ICE agents could be at the Super Bowl or upcoming high-profile public events, they do not explicitly confirm it.

Bad Bunny will perform at Super Bowl 2026

The backstory:

Latin superstar Bad Bunny was recently announced as the headliner for the Apple Music Super Bowl halftime show in California.

The Puerto Rican reggaeton artist will lead the halftime festivities from Levi’s Stadium on Feb. 8, 2026 in Santa Clara. But word of his performance isn't sitting well with some.

What they're saying:

"It's so shameful that they've decided to pick somebody who just seems to hate America so much to represent them at the halftime game. We should be trying to be inclusive and not exclusive. There are plenty of great bands and entertainment people out there," Lewandowsk added.

Bad Bunny told I-D magazine last month that his fear of ICE raids was part of the reason why he skipped touring in the U.S.
