Florida woman accused of stealing from summer food program
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — A Florida woman is accused of stealing thousands of dollars from a summer feeding program for low-income children.
According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the Shelby County Grand Jury returned an indictment on Tuesday charging Jeannette Jives-Nealy with theft.
Investigators say more than $162,000 was unaccounted for from a 2014 summer food program run by Kingdom Dominion Worldwide Ministries in Memphis. Jives-Nealy was a prophetess affiliated with the ministry. She now lives in Tampa, Florida.
On Friday, authorities from the Florida Department of Corrections Tampa Circuit Office arrested Jives-Nealy without incident and booked her into the Hillsborough County Jail, where she is awaiting extradition to Tennessee.
Jail records do not indicate whether she has an attorney.
