Firework testing at the University of Central Florida this Tuesday
ORLANDO, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - If you live near the University of Central Florida (UCF), you may hear and see fireworks this Tuesday.
The UCF Police Department says that loud noises and campus closures should be expected this Tuesday, as UCF conducts testing to prepare for a Homecoming fireworks display this fall.
They say that firework testing is scheduled to start around 9 a.m. this Tuesday. Those near Garage D and Memory Mall are likely to see and hear the fireworks.
To accommodate the testing, Garage D and a few designated rows of Lot D2 will reportedly close at 9 p.m. on Monday. Vehicles in those area must be removed by that time or they will be subject to towing. The garage will remain closed until Tuesday that afternoon.
The UCF Police Department also says that a portion of Gemini Boulevard between North Orion and East Plaza Drive also will be closed for a brief period between 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday due to the testing.
