Fight over undeveloped land in Seminole County
SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - The group Save Rural Seminole is organizing to fight a proposal to build 1,400 homes and commercial property on 600 acres of undeveloped land, just east of the Econlockhatchee River.
Former state legislator Chris Dorworth is behind the proposed River Cross development, north of the Orange County line and west of County Road 419. He has cited the need for affordable housing among the list of reasons for the development.
The county zoning board already voted down the proposal, but ultimately, the decision is up to the Board of Commissioners.
