FHP searching for hit-and-run driver in Osceola County

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - The Florida Highway Patrol is looking for a driver who hit a man then left the scene Wednesday night in Osceola County.  The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. on Simpson Rd. and Royal Palm Dr.

Troopers say the victim, 43-year-old Jess Schottborgh, was critically hurt after being hit.  A witness described the vehicle as a white work van. However, troopers said no pieces of the vehicle were left behind making it very difficult to track down.  

This marks the 810th hit and run FHP has responded to in Osceola County this year. At this time last year, there were 566.
