Deputies say couple sold stolen items on eBay
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - A retail theft ring responsible for stealing and reselling tens of thousands of dollars' worth of merchandise from malls and other stores in Volusia and Seminole counties was dismantled on Tuesday, authorities say.
"The investigation, which started with a tip from an angry girlfriend in March, resulted in four arrests today and the recovery of boxes full of suspected stolen goods," said Volusia County Sheriff's Office spokesman Andrew Gant.
Constantine "Mike" Joseph, 52, of DeBary, and Sherry L. Laizer, 49, of Orange City, are believed to have sold close to $75,000 in stolen merchandise between January and March alone.
The investigation remains active and ongoing, and additional arrests are possible.
