Crash claims life of Ocala pedestrian in Sumter County
ORLANDO, Fla. - A 62-year-old Ocala man was struck by two vehicles early Sunday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
What we know:
He was hit while attempting to cross County Road 475 north of County Road 466, the report states.
Troopers said the man was walking along the shoulder of the roadway when he entered the path of a northbound GMC pickup truck driven by a 39-year-old Summerfield man.
After being struck by the pickup, the pedestrian was hit again by an Acura sedan traveling in the same direction, driven by a 35-year-old man from The Villages.
Both vehicles came to controlled stops following the collisions. Neither driver sustained injuries, authorities said.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
