Cat saved from drain by DeLand firefighters

DELAND, Fla (WOFL FOX 35) - On Friday morning the DeLand Fire Department was called out to May Street regarding a cat stuck in a drain. The owner told officials that she came home and could hear the 14-year-old cat named Sammie meowing.

Firefighters used a garden hose to spray the cat with water and move him toward an opening where the owner was able to grab him. The cat appeared uninjured and ran toward his home.
