NOAA forecasters to release hurricane forecast

The start of hurricane season is just days away and we'll soon learn how bad it's expected to be.

NOAA Forecasters will release their storm outlook at the Agency's Aircraft Operations Center in Lakeland on Thursday. They will predict how many hurricanes and tropical storms they expect to form over Atlantic and Caribbean waters in the next six months,

Last year, they correctly predicted an above average season. Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria caused damage to Texas, Florida, and Puerto Rico. Overall, there were 17 storms last year, including 10 hurricanes.
