Captain hopes to set world record to raise funds for pediatric cancer research

Captain Scott "Red" Flowers a local fishing guide, cancer survivor and supporter is hitting the water to set a World Record for the fastest completion of the Great Loop. The Great Loop is a system of continuous waterways that encompasses the eastern portion of the United States and parts of Canada. Captain Flowers intends to accomplish this in 30-40 days in a 28-foot, open cockpit center console Canyon Bay boat. His goal is to raise $1,000,000 in donations and sponsorship, with net proceeds being donated to the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation.
