Mount Dora police detectives said they are close to naming a person of interest in the murders of a Mount Dora couple. Police say Khiem Trinh and Minh Nguyen were killed in Nov. 2020, by a masked gunman.

Murder of Jennifer Odom cracked: Sheriff

The man investigators say kidnapped and killed 12-year-old Jennifer Odom as she walked home after stepping off a Pasco County school bus in 1993 may be sentenced to death for the crime. State Attorney Bill Glass made that announcement during a press conference on Thursday morning after the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office announced it has charged Jeffery Norman Crum with the kidnapping, murder and sexual assault of Odom 30 years later.

Cocoa cab driver's murder still not solved

Robert Riness’s mother opened the door to police and the awful news: her son was dead. “We were sound asleep, and somebody’s knocking on the door about 1:30 in the morning,” said mom Patricia Maybee, "Tthey said it’s the police and they wanted to speak with me… he said 'I think you need to sit down.' That’s when he told me.” Riness, a cab driver, was there to pick up a customer. Police say nothing was stolen. Riness was shot and killed; the killer took off.
