Portland Thorns defeat Orlando Pride 2-0

The Orlando Pride kicked off its fourth annual National Women's Soccer League season against Portland Thorns FC on Sunday.

But, the team fell short in the home-opener, losing against Portland 2-0.

Portland was the 2018 NWSL Championship runner-up.

Sunday’s match will mark the third time the Pride have opened the season against the Thorns and the first in Orlando.

The two will face off once more in Orlando on May 11 and at Providence Park on July 14.

After Sunday's game, the Pride face a quick turnaround, hitting the road to face the defending NWSL Champion North Carolina Courage on Wednesday, April 17. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET at WakeMed Soccer Park.
