WWII vet in Florida celebrates 105 years

A World War II veteran living in Florida celebrated his 105th birthday this week.

Harvey Benjamin Langford Sr. was born in 1913 in Marion County.  He later married Ms. Pearlie Mae Hayes in 1953 and they raised their six children together in Dunnellon, where Langford still resides.   He retired in the 1980s after working as a bellman at some of the most exclusive, luxury hotels in the country.  He has a few tips for living a long life.

"If you want to get to 100, relax. You know?  Get out there and do a flip every now and then, a flop every now and then, and before you know anything, 100 years is there!"

The City of Dunnellon honored Langford with a proclamation on Friday.
